




Hawkes and sons had a shop in London. Typical golden-orange varnish of the period. The violin is in mint condition with no cracks. New setup.

Alfred Mortiz was the head of a Workshop in Dresden from 1880 - 1900.
He had agencys in London, and his superbly varnished instruments were very popular.
This instrument has recently got a new bassbar and setup.
Highly recommended for advanced players.
