The
limited number of antique Italian instruments has seen their value steadily
climb, so the need for specialised craftsmen and experts has become
apparent. A well executed restoration will boost the price of a top
class instrument significantly.

As instruments become more and more rare and valuable, new techniques are needed to assure gentle and careful restoration. Using the G-clamps allows perfect crack levelling. Maximum pressure is applied only at the point where it is needed. The resulting glue joint are extremely thin and invisible after retouch, and arching deformation is completely avoided.

Dark retouch varnish was removed, and new wood inserted. Careful retouch is hiding any damage.
